I have a small collection of WordPress Themes & Plugins that are yours to download. They are free, forever, and you can do nearly whatever you want to them (except for repackaging them and/or distributing them/selling them yourself).
Some of these are truly helpful for SEO and admin dashboard customization. Some are a little more niche.

ETSEO adds proper customization fields for your individual Category and Tag edit screens. You can now independently edit each category’s/tag’s title tag, meta description, canonical link, meta robots tag, and body class. You also get a text entry field to insert custom HTML into that page’s <head> section. Finally, you can actually optimize your categories and tags!

You’ll be playing the accordion in no time.

Ethan’s Per Page/Global Add to Head & Foot
Add anything to a single page’s <head> and/or footer from a plain text box in the editor, and also add anything to the global <head> and/or footer from one settings screen. Includes shortlist of common code you can copy and paste, like the favicon HTML, ready to be filled in. I love the old Per Page Add to Head plugin, but the website is gone, so I rebuilt it and enhanced it in the process.

Ethan’s Bulk Post & Page Creator
Upload a CSV and get real posts or pages created instantly, one per row. You have options to configure dates, slug, status, categories, tags, author, page-vs-post, and even content, but all you really need is a list of titles and the rest will fall back, so it’s super easy.

Ethan’s Spreadsheet to Shortcode
ES2S lets you upload an Excel, CSV, or ODS spreadsheet straight into WordPress, then drop any row of it into a post or page with a simple shortcode. Update the spreadsheet, re-upload it, and every shortcode using it updates automatically—plus every header and value gets its own CSS class, so you can style any specific piece of data exactly how you want.

Ethan’s Block Theme CSS Customizer
Block themes, being very stupid, don’t have a simple Customizer “Additional CSS” panel anymore. This plugin puts a CSS box and a live, click-around preview back in one simple screen, with CSS that will load after the theme’s, so you can get back to good ol’ CSS even on these newfangled block themes.

Show or hide any widget by page, category, post type, user role, login state, or date range! Works with both classic widgets and the block widgets editor. The old Display Widgets plugin got sold off and allegedly turned malicious, so my version rebuilds it from scratch and then enhances the functionality.

Runs your shortcodes in places WordPress leaves out in normal behavior: widget titles, block widgets, term descriptions, nav menu items, your site tagline, author bios… every location gets its own off & on switch too. The old Use Shortcodes in Sidebar Widgets plugin stopped getting updated and the site got sold to something sketchy looking, so I rebuilt it and added enhancements in the process.

These are things that only you as the backend user will see, but they make a big difference in your day-to-day ease and enjoyment of working on your site.
Ethan’s Classic Admin Editor Styling

EAP adds a whopping SEVENTY-FIVE extra admin color schemes to your WordPress user dashboard selection screen, and if that’s not enough, it gives you a built-in palette builder with live preview, so you can make and save your own custom admin themes and make them as beautiful or otherwise as you’d like – even with custom admin dashboard CSS.

Ethan’s Admin Favicon
Give your WordPress admin dashboard its own favicon, so you can actually tell it apart from the fifty other tabs you have open. I give you three options: paste in an image URL, select an image in your media files, or–and this is where the real functionality lies–choose your existing public-facing favicon, then use the built-in image editor to change the hue, desaturate it, make it lighter or darker, the works. Personally I like to generate lighter, greyscale versions of my public favicons to use as the admin dashboard favicons, but maybe you prefer red vs. green, or whatever–you can do it all with this plugin!

Glucose Corner Vintage Blog Theme
GCVB is a love letter to one of my favorite old-fashioned HTML blogs from the late ’90s, back when it was coded in frames and tables. There’s a scrolling little index panel pinned to a corner of your screen (all flexible and adjustable) and you get some delicious personal diary or Xanga vibes. No graphics baked in, but you get a couple patterns to choose from, with customizable colors–or you can bring in your own images.
Because I hate things that are new, GCVB is built with classic PHP templates, no block editor, no site builder, no drag and drop messiness. You get the customizer and you’re happy about it.

My View Source theme renders your entire WordPress site as if you’d right-clicked and hit “View Page Source,” with mostly-correct looking HTML all around, except it’s not the View Source screen, it’s just your public-facing website. It just LOOKS like the source code. Configurable to display as Chrome, Firefox, and more, in light modes and dark modes. The links display as <a> tags but you can still click them. It’s a real mind bender.

Just for Fun
HTMLquake
This is a nearly useless plugin that lets you customize how much each different HTML element and/or CSS selector on a page shakes, as if it’s experiencing an earthquake. If you’ve ever thought “this page isn’t shaky enough for me” then I guess this plugin is for you.
