Pattern Description
This pattern layers a small cluster of three overlapping shield shapes over a plain field of evenly spaced diagonal lines. The shield formation is the logo for the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, and this envelope contained a letter from that institution.
The shields repeat at wide, regular intervals across the surface, each cluster identical in shape and orientation, while the diagonal linework underneath runs continuously behind them, unbroken and unaffected by the shapes sitting on top.
The shield cluster itself has a crest-like, heraldic quality, with each shield subtly offset from its neighbors so they read as a layered group rather than three separate marks.
