Pattern Description
This pattern is a dense scatter of short, thick, irregular marks, closer to commas and hooks than straight lines, packed edge to edge across the surface with barely any breathing room between them. I somewhat roughly call these little things “twisties” but this is my own made-up term.
Nothing here repeats as a fixed unit immediately next to each other; each mark curls and tapers a little differently, so the eye reads it as organic noise rather than a manufactured print. The overall effect calls to mind the kind of pattern you get from reaction-diffusion systems in nature, the mottling on animal hide or the branching you see in mineral dendrites, where a simple local rule produces a field of individually unique shapes.
It has a restless, writhing quality, dense enough that focusing on any single mark takes real effort against the noise around it. On a larger scale, the field of shapes does tile, and it easily passes the flat Magic Eye test.
