Pattern Description
This one is a dense field of short, curved marks that scatter unevenly across the surface, each one built up from a fine crosshatched texture rather than a solid fill, so up close the individual strokes look almost like tiny woven patches rather than simple ink marks.
The marks themselves vary in length and curl in different directions, never repeating as a fixed unit in the same tiled section. There’s a sense of gravity or flow to the whole thing, as though the marks are mostly running in one same general direction.
The combination of an organic, drifting arrangement with a mechanical dot matrix or crosshatch texture inside each individual mark gives it a strange doubled quality, something both handmade and systematically produced at once. That tension calls to mind the kind of stippling and crosshatching techniques used in old engraving and etching work, where the texture is built from intricate marks, rather than actual shading.
