My COVID-17 Vaccination Card Joke

This is how I got vaccinated for COVID-17.

After I got my third vax shot, I decided it would be funny to do a little stupid photoshop prank.

I posted about getting my shot on my Instagram story, and then waited a day for that story to expire.

A large ad on the sidewalk with terrible ad copywriting.

This bizarre text conversation ad copy I saw in Napa

I was on a work trip to Napa, out for a walk, when I saw this ad on the sidewalk.

Hey, U ok?
Need help?

idk, feelin’ low
No one

WHO CARES what
others be thinkn…
I CARE & gonna
help U… Let’s go! : )

I mean look, I’m all for reaching out and helping your friends and I’m sure I’d support the work that Aldea is doing. But man if this isn’t some of the worst fake text conversation advertising copy I’ve ever seen.

If anyone starts texting me like this, our friendship is done. Sorry.

And yes I did code custom CSS classes with silly names just to make that text conversation match the graphic. That’s just the extra effort you can expect from me. You’re welcome.

peeps will be talkn tho

Ethan Hulbert in a Dewey Duck mask as an adult and as a child.

The Dewey Mask: Now vs. Then

We found the mask in a tote full of old papers, and I put it on just as a joke before intending to throw it away.

But when we found the old photograph on the right just a few minutes later, we decided to keep it after all. Maybe I’ll wear it again in another 30 years.

Dewey is one of Donald Duck’s nephews, by the way – Huey, Dewey, and Louie. But where this mask originally came from, who knows? A McDonald’s happy meal, or maybe the back of a cereal box?
