Yes, the acting could have been better (you can&#8217;t blame Burnal &#8211; he was a fellow film student, not an acting student) and yes, in retrospect I shouldn&#8217;t have used the VFX filter on Lauren&#8217;s face. But I still like the final product, in no small part thanks to Chelsea&#8217;s great lighting work.<\/p>\n<p>This song, &#8220;The Devil&#8217;s Blues (And Mine)&#8221; was written and recorded by my friend Ryan (and possibly by his band Royal Blues, if they were still around at this time), but I had originally given him the whole idea for the song and subject matter while sitting at Ray&#8217;s, so it was nice that I later got to use it for my own project.<\/p>\n<p>Obviously, the &#8220;hands&#8221; shot at the end is my favorite.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I shot Follow Me on 16mm color film on a Bolex, then edited it in Final Cut Pro after it was digitized.
