I shot Follow Me on 16mm color film on a Bolex, then edited it in Final Cut Pro after it was digitized.

I really like how this one turned out. Yes, the acting could have been better (you can’t blame Burnal – he was a fellow film student, not an acting student) and yes, in retrospect I shouldn’t have used the VFX filter on Lauren’s face. But I still like the final product, in no small part thanks to Chelsea’s great lighting work.

This song, “The Devil’s Blues (And Mine)” was written and recorded by my friend Ryan (and possibly by his band Royal Blues, if they were still around at this time), but I had originally given him the whole idea for the song and subject matter while sitting at Ray’s, so it was nice that I later got to use it for my own project.

Obviously, the “hands” shot at the end is my favorite.
