Happens All The Time

Happens All The Time might be the most coherent narrative film I ever made. Shot on color 16mm film, edited by hand with razors and splicing tape.

Chelsea and Andria were originally not supposed to act in this. Chelsea was my go-to director of photography and Andria was a reliable friend and PA. However, the actors that I had specifically booked ended up completely flaking on me. So we made do.

I also realized once we got to this location that I didn’t bring any tape or pins, so you’ll note that when Chelsea is “pinning up” a string with the new conspiracy article, she’s just pantomiming it, there’s nothing there. Movie magic!

I really enjoyed being able to color in the film for “effects” and shoot a real action scene, which didn’t turn out half bad, all things considered. But of course, defeating alien imposters is normal for Chelsea. This kind of thing… Happens All The Time.
