🧬 Font Fucker

Procedurally mutate TrueType outlines and spacing with a reproducible recipe, compare the result with the source font, inspect individual glyph damage, and export a rebuilt font.

This tool is client-side only. Everything happens in your browser and none of your data is shared.

About This Tool

Font Fucker is a deterministic TrueType font mutation tool for altering glyph outlines, spacing, composite components, and kerning while keeping the result reproducible from a saved recipe. It works with TTF and OpenType fonts that use TrueType glyf outlines.

The mutation controls can move individual on-curve and off-curve points, distort contours, rotate and scale glyphs, shift baselines and advance widths, apply waves, shear, wind, melt, radial distortion, component movement, component scaling, and classic kern changes. A fixed seed makes the same source font and recipe produce the same mutations again.

The live preview loads the rebuilt font directly in the browser, while the Glyph Microscope compares original and mutated coordinates for individual glyphs. Mutation statistics record changed outlines, point displacement, spacing changes, composite changes, kerning changes, and output fingerprints.

Export rebuilds the TrueType tables needed by the mutation, including glyf, loca, horizontal metrics, glyph bounds, table offsets, and checksums. The generated font is reparsed and loaded through the browser font engine before download is enabled, so the exported TTF has passed both structural checks and an actual font-load test.

Recipes can be saved and imported as JSON for repeatable experiments. The tool is meant for controlled font distortion, glitch typography, generative type experiments, damaged-lettering studies, and exploring how far a TrueType font can be pushed while remaining usable.
